The Greater Blairstown Business Association Announces 2018 Board of Directors
BLAIRSTOWN, NJ – The Greater Blairstown Business Association (GBBA) is proud to announce its new Board of Directors for 2018. With a wide variety of knowledge across several industries and decades of combined entrepreneurial experience, the Board is excited to carry on the GBBA’s mission to support local businesses and foster unity in business and community.
Taking the helm as Chair is Tom Palmieri of Palmieri Financial Services. Tom has an extensive background in volunteer work and has served on the GBBA Board in the past. Serving as 1st Vice President and Membership Chair is Rev. Dave Tillisch of the First United Methodist Church of Blairstown. Dave brings many valuable years of work in the non-profit sector as well as over a decade of retail management experience to the table. Ravi Romano of RE/MAX Ridge Real Estate will continue his long-time work as 2nd Vice President and Board Development Chair. An energetic member of the business community, Ravi has hosted yearly Halloween and Christmas events on Main Street, in Blairstown.
Also returning as Treasurer is Keith VanDerzee, CEO of YMCA Camp Mason. Though he presently works on behalf of non-profits, Keith has extensive experience in finance. Karin White is now taking on the role of Secretary. Karin brings multi-faceted experience as a volunteer, an artist with Gallery 23 and a real estate agent with Burgdorff ERA. Sandy Roberts returns to the Board, now serving as Publicity Chair. A full-time science teacher, Sandy also offers educational programs through her company, Kaleidoscope Enrichment, LLC.
Said Tom, “I am honored that the Executive Committee has chosen me to be this year’s Chair. The GBBA has had a positive impact on the business community in Northwest New Jersey. We will build on past successes and increase people’s awareness and benefits of supporting local businesses.”
The GBBA will kick off 2018 with a Meet & Greet on Wednesday, February 21 at 6:30 pm at Burgdorff ERA located at 2 Walnut St., Hope, New Jersey 07844. This reorganization meeting will be focused on feedback from members of the business community on the GBBA’s three goals for 2018: Networking, Education, and Advocacy. Anyone interested in the GBBA is welcome to attend for free. Catered food and beverages will be available.
The Greater Blairstown Business Association’s mission is to encourage and support existing businesses in the Northern Warren County, New Jersey area, promote the development of new enterprises and foster high business and civic standards in the community.
