1) Today is the last day for the Watch Over Me Pet Sitting LLC Rescue pet photo contest. Send entries to watchovermealex@gmail.com or message them on Facebook. These are not just dogs and cats any rescues are welcome!! The top three pets will get prizes and the grand prize winner will also get to choose which rescue receives $100 donated by Watch Over Me Pet Sitting!
2) Gallery 23 has announced their April Featured Artist: Kara Malone. Kara creates distinguished pieces of jewelry, knot by knot, using the ancient form of macramé. She uses Brazilian linen string coated in a protective wax seal and incorporates gemstone, seeds, shells, etc., collected from her world travels. She has recently broadened her art to include wall hangings, plant hangers, and dream catchers. Kara is constantly discovering new ways to implement her creativity into new mediums of work. Kara is available to teach macramé workshop or parties. Workshops include creating items such as macramé bracelets, plant hangers and wall hangings. Gallery 23 is hosting a reception for the artist on April 9th from 12:00 PM – 5 PM with light refreshments and beverages.
3) The Foodshed Alliance has several great events upcoming. On April 6 from 6:30-9 pm, they are hosting a Green Drinks Gathering at the Inn at Millrace Pond. On April 17 they are hosting a Farm-to-Fork Celebration at Andre's Restaurant in Sparta from 4 to 8 pm with an all-star line-up of chefs. And on June 4 at 10 am, the Blairstown Farmer's Market opens again for the season on Stillwater Road, across from Blairstown Elementary School.
4) Blairstown Enhancement Committee asks: Have you noticed that Main Street is brighter at night? They did an evaluation, and were able to work with JCP&L and get the non-working street lights up and running. They have also recently hit 200 likes on Facebook. Let's get them to 300!
